This page will soon contain more detailed information that will guide you towards getting the best use of your investigative dollars.  Here are some basics to start:

1. Make sure that the firm displays its state licence number prominently on its home page.   License number disclosure is a required mandate.

2. Check the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for complaints and litigation charges.   If there is no BBB record that only means there has been no complaint, the company can still be quite reputable.

3. Check the Better Business Bureau web site if the firm lists itself as a BBB member. Go to http://search.bbb.org/ to submit a search.  Many deceptive companies are displaying the BBB logo on their web sites falsely, to mislead prospective clients.
